Ericka Tiscareno demonstrates high prioritization in her academics at Virginia Union University. Throughout her undergraduate career she maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.7, and graduated with a B.A. in Criminal Justice with the Class of 2021. Tiscareno is currently perusing her Master’s degree at Virginia Union University, majoring in Political Science, with aspirations of becoming a law school student shortly after.

Character

Tiscareno transferred to Virginia Union University after her freshman year of college, and to this day, she has faithfully stepped up in becoming a leader amongst her team, classmates and peers. She takes pride in her efforts of development in becoming an inspiration to others, while staying intrinsically motivated and determined.

Tiscareno shows dedication in sharing her knowledge of success with her peers. She has demonstrated great balance with the many programs she finds herself a member of at Virginia Union University. Tiscareno is a member of the prestigious Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), serving as the treasurer of the 2021-22 academic school year. As well as, being a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.

Community

Tiscareno is continuously active in the Richmond community, along with maintaining an active footprint in her hometown, East Los Angeles, CA.

In the Richmond area, she involves her time volunteering in numerous places. Her most recent time spent volunteering was at a local middle school providing mentorship to students, as well as participating in multiple community service events with SAAC and her sorority.

In her hometown, Tiscareno has been a volunteer with the Natasha Watley Foundation for the past 6 years, where she serves as a coach to the youth in low income communities. She also repeatedly volunteers at the Special Olympics and local homeless shelters during her time spent back home. 

Competition

Tiscareno has been playing Softball since the age of 9 years old. She is currently a first basemen and pitcher at Virginia Union University.

Prior to the season ending tragedy, due to the global pandemic, Tiscareno was awarded the CIAA Food Lion Pitcher of Week for the month of February.

Tiscareno is looking forward to her upcoming season and ready to make history with her teammates.
