Classroom

Gipson has showcased tremendous dedication to her academics. She has maintained a 3.5 GPA over four years and has been on the Dean’s List for her entire collegiate career.

She also completed internships with both Red Ventures and the Winston-Salem State Computer Science Department in preparation for life after basketball.

Character

Gipson truly exemplifies leadership, both on and off the floor.

She leads her team by being the mouthpiece of her head coach when playing point guard on the court. Gipson showcases the same level head and composure that she has in a game around campus.

Gipson has served as Vice President of the Omega Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta, Inc. She is proud to carry the Zeta legacy in her family.

Gipson has also been a listening earner her teammates and fellow student-athletes around campus. Her strong, positive character has led her to become a mentor for first-year students at WSSU.

Community

Gipson has been extremely active in the community at Winston-Salem State.

She volunteers both with her sorority and teammates, always helping others in need. Gipson has been a constant with the Ronald McDonald House, Habitat for Humanity, Triad Minority Business Expo. She also volunteers at local nursing homes, where she hands out hot lunches in conjunction with Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina.

In part because of her strong efforts, Gipson has helped the WSSU Athletic Department attain over 3,000 hours of community service each year. Even during the pandemic, the department has amassed 1,000 hours - with Gipson in the fold of it all.

Competition

Gipson was a constant assist leader in both her freshman and sophomore campaigns - in part because of her tremendous court vision.

She was also one of the team leader in steals during the last season and continues to demonstrate an innate ability to get to the free throw line.
